You may view your skin only as a reflection in the mirror, something to be worried about occasionally when spots appear or the glow fades?
Did you know that your skin is actually the largest organ of elimination of your body? Believe it or not - we’re meant to be shedding nearly ½ a kilo of waste through our skin DAILY – mainly through sweat.
So to increase elimination through the skin, particularly if you’re not sweating very often (which could be a sign of dehydration and/or not enough exercise…), then get a long-handled brush from your chemist, (with natural bristles) and start body brushing daily. This will not only help stimulate skin elimination but it will also brush away dead skin cells and stimulate the lymphatic system just beneath the skin, for deeper cleansing.
This is how to do it:
- Before your morning shower: in sweeping movements, dry brush gently but energetically from the toes upwards towards your heart, front and back of your body, everywhere except your face.
- This should take about 5 minutes and should be followed with a hot/cold shower to further stimulate movement: take a normal shower then end with 20 seconds hot, then very cold, then hot again and finish with 20 seconds very cold.
…and watch that glow re-appear! 🙂
